How to Hike the White Rim Overlook Trail, Canyonlands NP

Located in the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park, the White Rim Overlook Trail is an easy hike that takes you to one of the best views in the park. The trail is generally easy with very little exposure until you reach the viewpoint at the end, but you can easily avoid this if you have a fear of heights.

I hiked to the White Rim Overlook trail with my 3 kids during April on our day exploring this part of Canyonlands NP. We spent the day driving through the park and this was one of our favorite viewpoints. Below you will see how to do this hike, what to expect, and where to park.

This hiking trail is inside the park boundaries so you will need to pay a fee to enter Canyonlands National Park. There is no reservation system for Canyonlands. Once inside the park, follow the main road (Island in the Sky Scenic Drive) to the end. The White Rim Overlook Trailhead is located at the end of the road, just past the Grand View Point Overlook.
